Spring Concert

Southend Band is looking forward to presenting its Spring Concert at Leigh Wesley Methodist Church on Saturday evening, 8th March 2025.

Co-hosts are the delightful (and spiritually uplifting) West Leigh Boys' Choir, performing under the direction of (local music legend) Jan Walker.

The concert starts at the unusual time of 7pm
and the 'interval break' will be placed at the end of the concert, when it is hoped that folk will stay for complimentary refreshments and a 'good catch-up'.

The light programme of foot-tapping and heart-warming crowd-pleasers, includes a vintage Cole Porter lollipop, a bravura euphonium solo, a Disney song, some classic 'pop' and an iconic TV theme.

Together, the band and choir will present a selection from the musical 'Oliver!' so the fare is suitable for all ages ~ the young and the 'young in heart' and, by way of encouragement, admission for well-behaved, accompanied children is to be waived on this occasion.
