Music will ring out for a good cause as singers and musicians raise money for Southend charity Harp, which helps the town’s homeless.

Local choir Cantare, the Southend Band and the Southend Girls’ Choir will come together for the concert on Friday.

The groups came together last year to raise money with a similar event, and organiser Noel Kelleway says: “I am delighted that these three performing groups have again given their services freely to support the vital work of Harp. Last year’s concert produced a large amount of appreciative feedback and I am sure that this year will be every bit as good.”

The evening will highlight the work the charity does – which includes running the only emergency night shelter in Southend.

Music for a Summer’s Evening in aid of Harp and featuring Cantare, the Southend Band and the Southend Girls’ Choir takes place on Friday, June 28, at Crowstone Christian Centre, Crowstone Road, Westcliff from 7.30pm.
